Tips on Budgeting – The #1 secret that makes a budget work
Budgets don’t work. Have you ever found yourself, or someone else saying that in the past? I think that budgets absolutely work. The problem is that people don’t work at following tips on budgeting and they need personal finance help. The concept of a budget is very simple, and to say that it doesn’t work is just down right ridiculous. There is one secret that can help you. In fact, this one secret is that main reason why budgets don’t work for most people. Read on.
What is the concept of a budget? Well this is what I say: A budget is the concept of managing your money in order to spend equal to, or less than what you earn. Naturally if you achieve this then you will not go into debt. Simple right? I think so. Then why is it so hard for people to make a budget work? I will tell you the number 1 secret that makes a budget work:
You must associate massive pleasure with talking the actions necessary to balance a budget.
This is called neuro-associations. It was a technology developed by Anthony Robbins and it stems from the theory that all humans make decisions for two reasons:
To avoid pain or,
To gain pleasure
You see, if you always connect pain with the act of running a budget then I’m sorry to say, but a budget will never work for you until you change that. Most people do not associate pleasure with following tips on budgeting. They see it as too restrictive. All they see is all the things they cannot have, places they cannot go and dreams they cannot achieve. I would argue the opposite: proper financial planning will help you achieve your goals and dreams.
So remember, the key to making a budget work is to link up massive pleasure with the act of running a budget. If you need personal finance help then this is a must. Until you take this step then you will always struggle as you try and take the actions necessary to balance your budget.

When I feel that I am overstretching myself of running a tight budget I give myself a cheap reward like a danish or time to relax, after all we are humans not machines !
Rewards are the best way to help identify your goals. I have a friend who recently quite smoking and for each week that he remains smoke free he puts $50 into a bank account. His goal is to save enough for a trip to Europe. I guess he is paying himself twice!
