Think and Grow Rich: Book Review
First published in 1937 during the great depression, Think and Grow Rich written by Napoleon Hill is an absolute classic and a must have. Hill’s inspiration came directly from the great Andrew Carnegie’s magic formula for success. Hill will show you the great secret and how to master it. Once mastered, Hill claims that you may have whatever you want in life.
Think and Grow Rich begins with the first chapter titled: “Thoughts are Things.” He tells a story of a man who literally thought his way into a partnership with Thomas Edison. Hill goes on to explain how your mind is the starting point for wealth. I believe that you are either held back or pushed forward by your thoughts and this chapter defiantly reinforces that belief. The chapter ends with a great quote “Whatever the mind of a man can conceive and believe it can achieve.”
Think and Grow Rich has had a major influence in the way I think. As I read it over for this book review I realize there are so many good quotes that are a part of my core belief system when it comes to money and success. Here are some of my favourite quotes:
“There are no limitations to the mind except those we acknowledge”
“Both poverty and riches are the offspring of thought”
“Every adversity, every failure and every heartache carries with it a seed of an equivalent or greater benefit”
“Success requires no explanations”
“Failure permits no alibis”
“Happiness is found in doing, not merely in possessing”
Wow. Are those amazing or what? I will put it simply; if you want to be wealthy or get ahead financially you MUST read this book. It is only an $8 book and you could probably read it in a weekend. This book has been in print since 1937 so you can bet it is not crap. Take the time and read Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, I promise it will not be a waste of your time.
