Money Saving Vacation Tips – Manage My Money
Those of us who have had the luxury to travel understand how expensive it can be. The cost for anyone who has done so with an entire family can often cost a small fortune. When I would go on vacation, thinking about ways to manage my money rarely crossed my mind. After all, I’m on holidays and I want to do anything and everything. I’ve learned that coming home to an empty bank account can be rather upsetting and I realized that budgeting is important while traveling. Do you want to travel on a budget and still make it the best vacation you have ever had? Here is a list of money saving vacation tips.
TRAVEL WITH FRIENDS:
Hotels are expensive. If you hope to stay at a hotel with an ocean view balcony don’t expect to spend less than $100 a night. Bring along the kids and you’ve already spent $1500 before you dipped your toes into the soft white sand. One option you might want to consider is to travel with friends and rent an entire house. If you look online you can rent a 4 bedroom home in Florida for $1500 or less. Use the pull out couch for the kids and you are suddenly on vacation for half the price.
BUDGET WITH FOOD:
If you eat out every single meal your vacation will be expensive. Try to save money anyway you can. One of the best ways I learned how to manage my money was to take a picnic to the beach. You can feed the entire family for less than $20. Breakfast can be a bowl of cereal and to make it fun for the kids by letting them pick something they would never be allowed to eat at home. Dinner can be at an all you can eat buffet or a simple restaurant.
BUDGET WITH SPENDING:
If you hope to visit every single attraction, make sure you plan everything out before you leave. Some of the smaller attractions offer coupons online such as buy one get one free or kids under 12 play free. Do your best to avoid Disney World or Amusement parks. The kids will have more fun seeing a dolphin in the ocean instead of at Sea World.
Vacations can be expensive but they don’t have to be. If you create a budget, make a plan and save as much as you can on food you can still have a fantastic vacation at half the cost. These are just a few of the ways I’ve learned how to manage my money while on holidays. Check out more of my blog for more money saving tips.
