If he is trying to piggyback off of her credit to re-establish his that could backfire and end up hurting them both. Until they're married they should keep their finances separate, and even then it might be wise to segregate finances. Plus I'm not sure why he thinks being on the title will automatically entitle him to get credit for paying on the loan - wouldn't he also have to be added to the loan as well?
