Wow! I knew that Americans had a lot of credit cards but I did not know that they had that many.

Easy access to credit is not always a good thing. This is one of the major causes of the current recession.

Thanks

Interesting stuff, did you know though that the average American has somewhere between 5 and 10 credit cards. There are people who have up to 50 different credit card accounts open, though. That doesn

Great Tips, thanks! Just echoing your thoughs -- always use cash. When the money's gone, it's gone. In that way, you spend less :)

A tip that's not on here is to save on your cell phone bills. It's a really popular tip among the other "money saving" blogs. Reading them, I came across one about switching from a contract phone to a prepaid. I looked into these plans and found that it is a great deal. I found one that was unlimited talk and text and 30MB of data for $45 a month. It's called Straight Talk and was created by Tracfone and Verizon. There are no cancellation fees, activation, or even overage! So I can call my family back in Chicago for the same as a local call (practically free!). And, it's on America's most reliable network. Just a tip that I thought might help a lot of you...especially if you are spending a lot on your kids cell phone bills, or if you're college students.
